One thing’s for sure: you won’t be disappointed by your experience at Médréac station! In this former station, you’ll be immersed in the atmosphere of 19th-century station life.
Travel through nature
Looking for an original idea for a bike ride? Médréac station also offers you the chance to take a ride on an old railway line (la Brohinière / Dinan / Dinard): get on board a rail bike or a pedal-powered draisine and set off to discover the beautiful landscapes of Brocéliande. The more sporty among you can give it a go and discover the rolling countryside, not forgetting the beautiful state forest of Montauban-de-Bretagne or the pretty Chapelle de Lannelou! In these splendid landscapes, you’ll discover the magical nature of Brocéliande while travelling back in time! 2 routes are available:
- A 1-hour “Direction Plouasne” walk of 7km, departing at 11.15am*, 2.15pm, 3.30pm and 4.45pm*. An additional departure will be offered at 10.15am in July and August. Prices: €29 per vélo-rail (maximum 5 people).
- A 2-hour “Destination Lannelou”route of 13km, departing at 10.45am (with a possible 1-hour picnic break), 2pm and 4pm. Price: €39 per cycle-rail (5 people maximum).
Cycle-railing requires a good level of fitness. It’s a discovery activity that’s best done in pairs. Open to children aged 2 and over.
A timeless site
Railway museum
A real place of knowledge, this museum will enable you to discover the railway techniques of yesteryear and the history of this station. In a fun, interactive area , you can meet Marcel and his coal pile and discover the steam locomotive as if you were there! It’s a fun way to learn about the history of railway workers and the railway line now used by bicycle trains.
Train station coffee
The visit doesn’t stop there! The ideal place to relax after your visit, the café de la gare offers you the chance to quench your thirst in the midst of preserved architecture. Inside or out on the sunny terrace, you’ll find plenty to laugh about! On the premises, enjoy home-made biscuits, hot or refreshing drinks… A well-deserved gourmet break to extend your trip…
An exceptional setting
Completely renovated, the Médréac cycle-rail station is a pleasant site in spring, summer and autumn! This unspoilt site has retained its character of yesteryear while retaining its undeniable charm. Picnic tables are available outside for convivial moments. There’s also a boules pitch where you can borrow a set of boules, Nordic skittles and shuffleboards for a lively game with family and friends.
