Micro-Folie is a local initiative that is completely free and accessible to all.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette (Paris), Micro-Folie is a cultural space located in local areas and consisting of a digital museum.
The digital equipment allows the masterpieces of many national and international museums, as well as major cultural sites and institutions, to be displayed in very high definition. The founding partners of this project are the Centre Pompidou, the Palace of Versailles, the Cité de la Musique-Philharmonie de Paris, the Festival d'Avignon, the Arab World Institute, the Louvre Museum, the Picasso National Museum-Paris, the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée de l'Orangerie, the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, the Paris Opera, the Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais and Universcience. Today, nearly 250 institutions around the world, specialising in fine arts, architecture, scientific cultures and the performing arts, share their collections. More than 2,600 works are currently available to discover thanks to the Digital Museum, and new collections will be added regularly.
The Micro-Folie in Ploërmel is housed in the Carmelite convent, a place steeped in history and restored in 2023.
This digital museum is open to everyone. The collections change every month, so you can come back regularly to discover new works each time. The projection lasts around 15-20 minutes and is accompanied by games and additional information to learn more about your favourite work, and the mediator is available to explain, inform and guide you.
A monthly programme of events is developed around the theme of the moment, with games, micro-visits and collective puzzles.
Open Wednesdays from 2pm to 6pm, Fridays from 10am to 1pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm. Outside these opening hours, slots are available for groups and schoolchildren.
Temporary exhibitions are also presented in the adjoining chapel.
