Boutavent covers nearly 2 hectares of land overlooking a lake near the Domaine de Trémelin. The site is a major medieval attraction of the Brocéliande area and is of significant archaeological value. The site has been open to the public since 2005. A main information board, a series of smaller information boards and a free guide are available for visitors to explore the site on their own. A geocache, one of the ‘Treasures from Upper Brittany’ can also be found here since 2010.

In summer, the purple schist rocks come alive with yellow gorse flowers which fill the air with the scent of coconut.

Geocaching enthusiasts can follow the traces of the Lords de Montfort in search of one of the ‘Treasures of Upper Brittany’.
