Managed by the BLOB association (Biodiversité et LOisirs en Brocéliande), the Paimpont water sports centre offers you the chance to combine physical activity with sightseeing!

Getting there

Recreational boat hire

The BLOB offers you a moment away from the hustle and bustle, between water, sky and forest. The pond gives you access to one of the most beautiful views of the abbey. This is a unique opportunity to spend some quality time with your partner, children or grandchildren on a pond that has been classified as a sensitive natural area.

Equipment available

The water sports centre has equipment to suit all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced paddler, after a few navigation tips, you’ll be ready for a ride on the water…

What you need to know

  • You must bring waterproof footwear and a change of clothes.
  • Everyone on board one of the boats must be able to swim.
  • All rentals include the use of boats and safety equipment (lifejackets must be worn).

Practical information

Opening dates and times for spring 2026

  • For members: staff on duty every Friday evening from 6pm. The centre is open only to members for independent use.
  • The team opens the water sports centre for hire on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as well as on public holiday afternoons. Additional times available by appointment for individuals and groups. As a precaution or if in doubt, please contact them.

Please note!

In the event of bad weather or weather conditions that do not allow safe navigation: the opening hours are reduced to an administrative reception.

Rates for individual hire (per boat)

  • Canoe (3 adults): 1 hour €20 / extra 30 mins €8
  • Kayak (1 person): 1 hour €12 / extra 30 mins €4 – 3-person kayak (2 adults and 1 child): 1 hour €20 / extra 30 mins €8
  • Stand-up paddleboard (1 person): 30 mins €8 / 1 hour €12 / extra 30 mins €4
  • Pedal boat (4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children): 30 mins €16 / 1 hour €20 / extra 30 mins €8
  • “Funboat” catamaran – by booking (1 adult and 1 child): 1 hour €20 / extra 30 mins €8

Group rates

Le Blob welcomes groups: please contact the association to book a free hire slot or one with a qualified instructor.

“Kayak Nature” outings

Once again this year, activities organised by the CPIE Forêt de Brocéliande will take place at the water sports centre.
These outings are free of charge. However, booking is compulsory.

Schedule for “Kayak Nature” trips on Paimpont Lake

In the morning, from 10am to 12pm

  • Wednesdays 15, 22, 29 July 2026, as well as Wednesdays 5 and 12 August 2026.
  • Thursdays 16, 23 and 30 July 2026, as well as Thursdays 6 and 13 August 2026.

Cancellation policy

Trips will go ahead with a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 15 participants. The decision on whether to go ahead with the trip will be made by 5 pm the day before, depending on the weather: this final criterion is at the discretion of BLOB.
