An afternoon on the farm Free tours from 8 July to 26 August 2026

The farms in the Rés’Agri network in the Ploërmel Community and the De L’Oust network in the Brocéliande Community invite you to spend an afternoon discovering the farms and the roles involved! From 8 July to 26 August, come and explore the farms and take part in workshops or tastings to learn all about local agriculture.

Farm tours

08/07 – Lucette et Camomilles, St-Marcel
Discover a beekeeping farm: honey production and other bee products, the honeybee, pollination, partnerships with farmers, and the challenges of the future. The tour is followed by a short tasting session. Lucette et Camomilles also grow flowers and herbs.

10 July – Ferme de Quéhéon, Ploërmel
Biodiversity walk, an introduction to the cattle-rearing cycle, how the milking robot works, and a workshop exploring the cereal sector and carbon. A facilitator from the Mauron media centre will be present for a reading of “Petits et Grands Héros”

15/07 – La Ferme aux Pains, Quelneuc, Taupont
Organic farmer and baker. Explanations of the process from wheat to bread.

22 July – Joly Angus, St-Nicolas-du-Tertre
An introduction to an Aberdeen Angus cattle farm where the cattle are kept outdoors all year round (management of grassland, fencing and animal welfare), the benefits of hedgerows for livestock and cereals, and the preservation of permanent grassland within the farm

31/07 – Dréano Farm, St-Guyomard
An insight into the lives of goats

19/08 – Les Chevaux de Brocéliande, Tréhorenteuc
Visit to the equestrian centre, including a demonstration and observation of work with horses at liberty. A facilitator from the Mauron media library will be present to read from ‘Petits et Grands Héros’

26 August – Vergers Latapie, Saint-Marcel
Guided tour of the organic farm with Mrs Pomme: History and the transition to agroecology.

Sunday 26 July

Farm Day at Le Bout du Chemin, Val d’Oust

A festive day featuring a market with local craftspeople and producers, horse-drawn carriage rides for children, live Breton music, and a food truck serving refreshments. This farm, covering around twenty hectares of meadows and situated on the edge of a forest, rears the iconic ‘Coucou de Rennes’, an ancient breed of poultry native to Brittany, and rears various breeds of cattle, raised on grass and hay for sale in farm boxes. It is also a breeding farm for Landais ponies and a horse boarding facility. Finally, the farm produces cut flowers under the name ‘Fleurs de Pays’. Certified ‘Bienvenue à la ferme’
From 11.00 am until the evening. No booking required

The tour is free but booking is ESSENTIAL ( places are limited). Tours last around 2 hours, so please wear closed-toe shoes, long trousers and bring a water bottle.
