Elly Oldman exhibition at L'aparté: an exhibition where you are the detectives

Situated on the shores of Lake Trémelin, 30 km from Rennes, L’aparté hosts annual temporary exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art. Don’t miss the current exhibition!

The contemporary art venue L’aparté unveils its new exhibition. The result of several weeks’ intensive residency on the shores of Lake Trémelin, artist Elly Oldman presents a body of work that is as fun as it is socially engaged, in which giant ‘plastimonstres’ come to life before your very eyes thanks to augmented reality!

From 29 May to 23 August, Rennes-based artist and illustrator Elly Oldman takes over the venue (both indoors and outdoors!) to present an original, humorous and deeply topical work: ‘The Planet Above the Earth’.

An interactive augmented reality adventure

Following several months’ residency in our region and fruitful exchanges with schoolchildren, Elly Oldman unveils a rich and vibrant visual world created in collaboration with the Friday Afternoons studio and musician Alexis Lumière.

The concept? A fantastical and humorous journey into a parallel world to tackle a crucial issue: plastic pollution and the eco-anxiety it can cause. Armed with your smartphone, you’ll set off to meet Platastique and his zany “plastimons”, creatures symbolising the waste that invades our daily lives. Thanks to augmented reality, the illustrations come to life before your very eyes, offering a playful and interactive reflection on our lifestyles. A brilliant experience for the whole family!

Keep your eyes peeled! An exhibition where you’re the detectives

Here, it’s not just a case of looking at the artworks lined up on the walls! Elly Oldman has designed this exhibition as a huge, interactive playground for children of all ages.

Somewhere between a revamped game of ‘Who’s Who?’ and a giant ‘Search and Find’, you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled – and pick the right ones!

Clues are hidden absolutely everywhere, from floor to ceiling, indoors and outdoors alike. It’s the perfect excuse to have fun, take on challenges and test your powers of observation after a short stroll along the lake.
