Fire risks in Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan

High temperatures and drought are conditions that increase the risk of fire. To ensure we can continue to enjoy our magnificent, legendary forest, heathland and woodland, we must all remain vigilant. For this reason, prefectural decrees are currently being issued to regulate access to forests, heathland and woodland. Thank you for your understanding.

The forest: a sanctuary to be protected

⚠ From 18 August, prefectural orders issued by the prefectures of Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan will temporarily regulate access, movement and the presence of people in woods, forests and moorland across all municipalities in Ille-et-Vilaine and in the Morbihan forest area: untilTuesday 1 September at 8.00 am, access is temporarily prohibited between 9.00 pm and 5.00 am the following day. Access remains unrestricted during the day, from 5.00 am to 9.00 pm.

The following are also prohibited:

    • The holding of any public event and gatherings of more than 50 people in wooded areas and heathland. This applies to tourist and leisure activities, as well as unauthorised gatherings.
    • The use, day or night, of any fireworks or pyrotechnic displays producing sparks, whether set off by professionals or members of the public, within 200 metres of woodland and moorland;
    • Access by motorised vehicles between 1.00 pm and 5.00 am the following day on unpaved (unsealed) forest roads and tracks crossing wooded areas and heathland;
    • Carrying out work that generates sparks and the useof thermal equipment required to power such tools within 200 metres of wooded areas and heathland between 1.00 pm and 5.00 am the following day, outdoors;
    • Roadside and track-side shredding work within 200 metres of wooded areas and heathland between 1.00 pm and 5.00 am.

Please observe these temporary measures and exercise caution.

Thank you for your understanding.

Please take care!
